  • Bethune Round Table 2022

    Virtual Virtual

The Bethune Round Table (BRT) is an annual interdisciplinary meeting aimed at addressing the challenges of providing accessible, high-quality surgical care to marginalized patients in low-resource settings. By bringing health professionals across a variety of disciplines together, we are able to share strategies and create solutions for improving surgical care to these under-serviced regions. The Bethune Round Table 2022 will take place virtually, 16 - 19, 2022, and is hosted by the Branch for Global Surgical Care at the University of British Columbia, in co-operation with the Canadian Network for International Surgery (CNIS). The theme for the BRT 2021 is “Decolonizing Global Surgery”.

  • All Africa Anesthesia Congress 2022

    Kigali, Rwanda Kigali

The All Africa Anesthesia Congress (AAAC) is hosted every two years by the African Regional Section (ARS) of World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA) and a member national society. Rwanda has been selected to host the first Congress since 2019. The AAAC provides an international venue for promoting the best of clinical care, research and education and for building professional relationships in the field of anesthesiology. In addition to a broad scientific program, the meeting hosts a Health Care Industry (HCI) Exhibition and various social events, including a conference dinner, accompanying persons program and opening and closing ceremonies. Industry support is expected to mitigate costs but as many registrants will be from less economically developed countries, cost containment and careful financial stewardship will be necessary. Attracting delegates from 54+ countries, the AAAC is unique in terms of global reach and diversity, offering an outstanding scientific and social experience for all who attend. The Rwanda Society of Anesthesiologists (RSA) anticipates that the AAAC 2022 could attract 1,000 to 2,000 delegates. These figures are an estimate based on past attendances at similar anaesthetic meetings.
