Rwanda

we love water

Yesterday we left Kigali for a few days of adventure before starting work next week. Michelle, Yvon, Daniel, Luke and I we driven by our long time friend, Emmy. The first stop is for the best potatoes in the world, goat brochettes and banana beer (only for the bravest members of our team).

Along the way we saw many goats
And cyclists getting a lift up the hill behind the truck (not safe or legal!)

banana trees, green fields

And people carrying just about everything on their heads

We got to Paradis Malahide in time to see the fishing boats head out for the evening

We were very happy to get back to Paradis Malahide but sooooo disappointed that there was no running water due to a burst water pipe in the area. We haven’t had any running water in the apartment in Kigali, so we had been looking forward to showers.
This morning, the owner of Paradis Malahide kindly arranged to move us to their spectacular new location (Paradis Kivu) just down the lake. This only opened a month ago. We are thrilled and we’ve all had showers. Water is just the best!
